Made by the celebrated Silversmiths Hunt & Roskell (previously Storr & Mortimer) and hallmarked for London in 1845, this elegant set of silver salts with blue glass liners, gadrooned edges and standing on 3 acanthus leaf feet, they are in excellent condition and will add style to any dinner table. The salts carry the armorial and motto of the Lane family "Garde Le Roy" translated as "Protector of the King" which they earned by hiding Charles II from Oliver Cromwell and the Parliamentarians during the Civil War.
