Large Oval Silver Bread or Biscuit Basket
A substantial oval bread or buscuit basket with an ornate open cut foliage fretwork design initialed in the centre with "JW". There are a few dings but nothing that takes away from the attractiveness of the piece.

Made by Mappin & Webb in Birmingham in 1929/30.

Large Silver Box by Mappin & Webb
Silver cigarette or cigar box hallmarked for London 1904 and made by Mappin & Webb. It has a hammered finish and is lined with cedar with a leather base.
There is a set of ornate copper initials to the top of the box, there seems to be a "P" a "C" and maybe an "L". I think these are a later addition.

Large Silver Plated Serving Tray
Dating to about 1880 this large silver plated serving tray is decorated with acorns and oak leaves - the regimental emblems of "The Cheshire Regiment". It was gifted to a retiring member of the regiment by the Sergeants Mess in about 1903. It has been re-plated at some stage and has a small crack in one of the handles but otherwise is an impressive piece of late Victorian plate.

Late 19th Century 4 Draw Brass Telescope
The "Lord Bury" made by J H Steward of 54 Cornhill, London. No 618.
This type of telescope was popular in the last quarter of 19th Century and was named after the Under-Secretary for War, Lord Bury, 1878-80 & 1885-86.
This examp[le is in good original condition with evidence of use, it has a dented final lens with a small chip.

Late 19th Century Mahogany Wardrobe
With a bevelled mirror on the door, pilasters supporting an ornately carved pediment, adjustable shelves and drawers this late Victorian or early Edwardian mahogany wardrobe is a handsome piece of furniture.
Inside there are two oak shelves that can be moved up or down the bracket supports and also an oak drawer unit that can also be adjusted. So you could have, three shelves (one having the drawer below) a shoe shelf and the bottom fixed drawer as well as some hanging space.
The pads under the feet are there because the floor is not level not the other way round!

Late 19th Century Sadeli Work Trinket Box
A very attractive Anglo-Indian trinket box in Sadeli work mosaic, with ivory, metal and ebony on a carcase of sandlewood.
Late Victorian or Edwardian, this box needs a little work as there are some small pieces of ivory missing. (see the pictures)
Despite this the work is of excellent quality, with the mosiac covering all surfaces of the box including the base and inside.

Late Victorian Large Size Capstan Clock
Made in France in the 1880s this is an impressive, large scale, automaton or novelty clock and dispays a nautical theme. The top half rotates on the fixed lower base and features four different faces, 2 clocks with Roman numerals are interspersed by a Thermometer and a Barometer. On the top of the piece covered by a white metal awning is a compass mounted in a gimbal that remains fixed pointing north as the top section rotates.
The lower section in the shape of a capstan features gilded rope coiled round the drum, an anchor, a stanchion with a pulley block and a lifebelt.

In untouched original condition, the clock has recently been serviced and the mainspring has been replaced. It could be restored to pristine condition if the new owner wishes but it is priced here "as is".

Late 19th Century floor standing three door astragal glazed bookcase or display cabinet with adjustable shelves in lovely figured mahogany with dental frieze decoration and a moulded top standing on bracket feet. The piece has recently been restored and re-polished, it is complete with working locks and keys and is in superb condition.

Late Victorian or Edwardian mahogany writing cabinet which opens to reveal slots for letters and stationery. Two gilt brass ink pots with pen tray and storage above a letter drawer crowned with a perpetual calendar showing month, date and day. When closed, it all locks securely with original key and is in fabulous condition.

Malacca Walking Cane Sword Stick
Paste encrusted silver plated mushroom shaped pommel, a silver (hallmarked Sheffield, date and maker rubbed) screwed collar with a bronze hexagonal section "cattle prod" shaft contained in a Malacca cane terminating in a brass ferrule, this is an impressive cane in excellent condition.

Mid 19th century 5 dial banjo barometer.
Mahogany case with a swan neck pediment and brass finial inset with 5 silvered dials, hygrometer, thermometer, convex mirror, wheel mercury barometer and level.
The main dial is 8" (20cms) and the case length is 39" (100cms).
